The windows arrived on Friday, a few days late, but then again they came from Oregon. They look great and the Leightons have installed
all of the second floor windows already. They still need to be trimmed out, both on the inside and the outside.
This look will certainly transform the outward appearance of the house
The windows will eventually have white exterior trim. This will frame the windows nicely.
Karen and I were driving through Rowley Mass this morning and noticed three historic houses with the black window and white frame treatment that
we will have installed. They looked Awesome, and apparently very unique for our area.

This is the first time we can see the new floors, the new wood work, doors and paint together. This is the hallway at the top of the stairs.
We still need to cap the short wall, and the original thought was to use wood from the new (yet to be installed) stair treads.
We have since changed our minds, and we will be putting on a white top instead.
The front bedroom has been painted, and Karen does not like to color, it was her choice…. 🙂
It is a bit bright, but bright is better… makes the guests leave earlier … especially the in-laws. Hmmm.
It looks like we may be repainting it the original yellow from Karen’s office. We will see what choice is made, I am staying out of this one.
Here you can see the new windows from the inside of the Master Bedroom. They look much larger (read more glass) and that is a good thing.
We had a discussion with the builders about including a sill, as we do not like the
NEW construction look we had with our last house … too ” unfinished and slapped together” in my opinion.
